Once the most current TAG objects are imported into your instance of Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV, there are critical information points that must be established in TAG before attempting any activities with this product. While this information is minimal, it is nonetheless required. The first step in configuring TAG may be competed through the options found in the Setup option on the Main Menu.
It is through the Setup options on the Menu you define how TAG assigns default information to help you manage maintenance activities. In general, these variable controls set the framework for numbering schemes, standard codes and other parameters.
At a minimum, you must first define the numbering sequences to be used by TAG. This is accomplished by selecting the Controls option under Setup on the Main Menu as shown in the diagram on the left.
These numbering sequences and other data defined here will be used when TAG creates transactions or master records. This is one of the few options that must be completed before proceeding with your implementation of TAG.
Other Recommended Setup
While all of the following options do not require completion, at a minimum it is recommended that information for the following be provided during setup:
- Meter Types
- Maintenance Types
- Status Codes
- Work Codes
